Great Day Out Package | Kayaking | Motorised Canoes | Snorkelling | Water Taxi & Island Drop Offs

To enjoy your island holiday, we give you snorkelling equipment to use during your entire stay. Most days we have kayak tours, water taxi drop offs to surrounding beaches, around-the-island tours, and guided motorised canoe trips to some great snorkelling spots. Water sports activities are available from the Watersports Hut on Fisherman’s Beach – snorkel equipment and kayaks are for hire, as well as tube rides, waterskiing, and catamarans. And then there are the spontaneous activities that happen when the mood and conditions strike the staff to add something new and different for the day.

There are a number of excellent bushwalking tracks to explore the island and take you to isolated beaches. Make sure to do the walk up Mt. Wyndham – it’s a beauty! The best views from the highest point on the island.

For those who love sitting on the beach and enjoy a swim or two, the two main beaches are perfect for safe, calm water swimming – but then you also have your choice of 15 other beaches, most of which you will probably have to yourself.

And don’t forget to finish your day watching the spectacular sunsets from Fisherman’s & Putney beaches looking across to the mainland.

Great Day Out Package

If you are unable to stay overnight at our Holiday Village, you can still enjoy the island and activities for the day. Our Great Day Out Package includes return ferry ticket plus use of water sports activities for the day – snorkelling equipment, catamarans, kayaks, vu board and a tube ride. (Waterskiing and wakeboarding are an extra charge.) Prices are - $79 adult; $71 student; $49 child (4-14 yrs); $216 family (2A2C). Holiday Village guests can enjoy a full day of water sports activities for a discounted rate of $25 per person.

Kayaking

		Want some real adventure? Then have a go at Sea Kayaking. Geoff & staff conduct these kayaking tours on a regular basis. You'll head off from Putney or Fishermans Beach and out to Middle Island and other destinations depending on weather and tides.

Motorised Canoes

		If you feel adventurous but you don't want to exert yourself too much, then a motorised canoe trip to some great snorkelling spots that aren't accessible any other way might be just thing. Explore hidden beaches and coves, see dolphins, turtles and other marine life.

Snorkelling

Great Keppel Island is a beautiful island, but there is more to see than just lovely views of beaches and islands.  There is a whole new world under the water.  The easiest way to see it is to grab snorkelling equipment from Reception and head out to Shelving and Monkey Beaches.  If you want to get further afield, talk to us about a boat ride to the best colour and biggest fish!

Great Keppel Island Water Taxi & Island Drop Offs

Water taxi trips are available from Rosslyn Bay Harbour (mainland) to Great Keppel Island and return. Trips are also available to surrounding islands and beaches. If you wish to camp on National Park islands, be sure to obtain a camping permit from Queensland Parks & Wildlife Service, and then arrange with us to transport you to your chosen island from Great Keppel Island. Costs depend on number of people and destination. Bookings required.
